Last updated: August 2026. Invoice Simple sells the phone workflow. Invvy gives away the document. If you invoice from a driveway, they are the better product. If you already have email, $21.99 unlimited is a lot to pay for a PDF. We rechecked Invoice Simple's pricing page on 20 August 2026: Essentials $6.99 (3/month), Plus $14.99 (10), Premium $21.99 (unlimited). Annual billing knocks two months off ($69.99 / $149.99 / $219.99).

What's the difference between Invoice Simple and Invvy?

Invoice Simple is a paid mobile invoicing app that meters how many invoices you send each month. Invvy is a free browser generator with no account and no count cap; both can produce a clean, unbranded PDF, but only Invoice Simple emails, tracks opens, takes cards, and lives in your pocket. Invvy stops at the file.

What is Invoice Simple?

Invoice Simple is a mobile-first invoicing app for contractors, freelancers, and small service businesses, owned by EverCommerce since April 2020. The live Google Play listing on 20 August 2026 still showed #2 Top Grossing Business, with 5 million-plus installs and about 171,000 reviews. That rank is the business. People pay.

The app is the product. The web generator is the front door. After about two free invoices (the same first-two-documents limit their App Store listing advertises), you hit a plan wall. Their FAQ is clear on one point we respect: clients never see the brand on the PDF. Who they build for is not a mystery. Cleaners, landscapers, plumbers, electricians, HVAC. Owner-operators who invoice from a phone on the job. Estimates stay unlimited on paid plans. Invoices do not.

What is Invvy?

Invvy is a free, no-signup invoice generator that runs entirely in your browser, with no watermark and no monthly invoice cap. You edit on the page, pick one of four templates, download a PDF, and nothing is uploaded to our servers. We do not email the file, take cards, or ship a native app. We built it after watching people fill a form, like the preview, then learn the price is three invoices a month. The generator and the free invoice page are the product, so that loop cannot start.

How much does Invoice Simple cost in 2026?

Invoice Simple has three paid USD tiers: Essentials $6.99 for 3 invoices a month, Plus $14.99 for 10, and Premium $21.99 for unlimited. We last confirmed those prices on their June 2026 page, and they were still current on 20 August 2026. Essentials includes autofill, online payments, read receipts, and the app. Plus adds photos, owner signature, reports, and due-date reminders. Premium adds client signatures, premium templates, deposits, and restore-previous-invoice. A 14-day trial sits on top.

Luis invoices 12 electrical jobs in March. Essentials dies on job 4. Plus dies on job 11. He needs Premium: $21.99 a month, or $219.99 a year. A consultant who sends two retainers can live on Essentials at $6.99. The plan you 'need' is the plan that matches a busy month, not a quiet one.

Why do trades like Invoice Simple, and why do they complain?

Trades like Invoice Simple because the phone is the office: photo, signature, email, and a ping when the client opens it. People complain because three invoices is a slow week, ten is a normal fortnight, and the only way out is Premium. Their July 2026 copy cites about 4.9 from 123,000+ App Store ratings and 4.8 from 169,000+ Google Play reviews. Store users like that driveway loop. The volume cap is still the number-one complaint across the panels we read.

Trustpilot sat at 3.7 from 262 reviews. Software Advice showed 3.7 from 41. G2 and Capterra sit in the mid-3s to low-4s on much smaller samples than the stores. Easy on site. Painful when the month has more jobs than the plan. On Reddit, r/smallbusiness threads asking for an Invoice Simple alternative almost always start with the cap. Play reviews in 2026 add a second theme: price rises stacked on a product people already liked.

Three invoices a month is a weekend, not a business. We will die on that sentence. A cleaner who visits eight houses is already past Plus. Paying $263.88 a year (monthly Premium) for the right to send the twelfth PDF is a choice. It is also why a no-cap generator exists.

Who should pick Invoice Simple, and who should pick Invvy?

Pick Invoice Simple if the phone is how you invoice, you want read receipts and card payments, and you will pay for the tier that matches your busiest month. Pick Invvy if you want unlimited free PDFs, no signup, and no upload. Pick Invoice Simple for the driveway. Pick Invvy for the desk, including a $3,600 brand project on net 14. Pick a ledger if you have outgrown both.

One caveat, because we built the other side of this table: we do not know your country's invoice rules, and we do not see your phone. If a client will only tap a card in the hallway, Invoice Simple is the tool. If they will pay on a net-14 transfer, start with the generator or pick a look on invoice templates. Need a quote first? Use quote. After they pay, stamp a receipt. Comparing the other cheap SaaS in this lane? Invvy vs Invoice Home is the dollar-cap version of this story.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Invoice Simple cost?

As of the June 2026 pricing page (still current on 20 August 2026): Essentials $6.99 a month for 3 invoices, Plus $14.99 for 10, Premium $21.99 for unlimited. Annual plans are $69.99, $149.99, and $219.99 (two months free). Prices are USD and can vary by local currency. A 14-day trial is advertised on the same page.

How many free invoices do you get with Invoice Simple?

Their App Store listing says you can create up to 2 free documents and send 1, with no card required, then pick a plan. The web generator is the same funnel. After that, Essentials allows 3 invoices a month. There is no unlimited free tier. Invvy does not cap PDF downloads at all.

Is Invvy a good Invoice Simple alternative?

Yes if you want unlimited free PDFs with no signup and you already send email yourself. No if you need read receipts, card payments, job photos, signatures, or a native app. Invvy is the document. Invoice Simple is the field kit. Plenty of desk-based freelancers only needed the document.

Why do contractors like Invoice Simple?

Because they invoice standing up. Photos of the finished job, a signature on the screen, a card link, and a ping when the client opens the email. App Store ratings stay high for that loop. The same people get angry when a busy month blows past 3 or 10 invoices and the only way out is Premium at $21.99.

Does Invvy accept credit card payments on invoices?

No. You put payment instructions in the notes (bank transfer, check, a PayPal address you already have). Invoice Simple can take cards and QR payments from Essentials up. If the client will only tap a card, use them. If they already pay you by transfer, you do not need a card rail to print a bill.
